West Midlands Road (Cycle) Race 16th April

Information for local residents

West Midlands Road (Cycle) Race – To take place on April 16th 10am – 12.30pm, on a circuit around Martley – Ankerdine Road – Bell Lane – B4204 – Willow Road.
The race will consist of about 70 cyclists in one or more groups, with car and motorcycle safety escort. They will complete several laps and should pass each point in a couple of minutes.
There may be slight delays to traffic at the junctions involved, where trained marshals will briefly halt traffic so that the race
can pass safely. Your patience is very much appreciated.

This event is run under British Cycling technical regulations and has police approval. All cyclists are strictly briefed to behave safely and courteously at all times.

We are hoping for some exciting racing and roadside spectators are very welcome and appreciated by the racers.

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 14 (AS AMENDED)

WORCESTERSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL

NOTICE OF THE CLOSURE OF C2243 WICHENFORD, WICHENFORD,

WORCESTERSHIRE (“THE HIGHWAY”)

Reason for restriction: Carriageway patching. There is a need to close the highway in the
following terms:-

  1. The effect of this Notice is that no vehicle shall proceed along that part of the
    highway from its junction with C2068 Wichenford to its junction with U64611
    Wichenford.
  2. This provision shall continue in force for a maximum of 5 days; however, it is
    anticipated that it will remain in force for 2 days commencing 27 April 2023.
  3. Alternative routes: C2243 Horne Lane, B4197 Hillside, C2068 Ockeridge, C2068
    Wichenford, C2243 Wichenford, U64611 Wichenford and vice versa.
    Nothing in this Notice shall prevent at any time access for pedestrians to any premises
    situated on or adjacent to the highway, or to any other premises accessible for pedestrians
    from and only from the highway.

MARTLEY ROAD CLOSURE UPDATE 10th March 2023

MARTLEY ROAD UPDATE – Good news and bad news..

Firstly, we are pleased to advise that Martley Road has reopened this afternoon between Lower Broadheath & Worcester following completion of gas connection works to the Bloor Homes development site.

Unfortunately, we have been notified today by Worcs CC that there is a problem with a sewer collapse at the Martley Road junction with Peachley Lane in Lower Broadheath, which will require a full road closure from Monday 13th March for up to 5 days. These are emergency works as the sewer is affecting a property on Martley Road.

(C2068 Wichenford) (Temporary Closure) Order 2023
Proposed Order: to close that part of C2068 Wichenford from its junction with C2243
Wichenford to its junction with C2068 Ockeridge.
Reason: Carriageway reconstruction by WCC
Exemptions: to permit access to any land or premises fronting the highway affected where
there is no other form of access and to allow the works to be undertaken.
Alternative route: C2068 Ockeridge, C2068 Hockhams Lane, B4197 Hillside, C2243 Horn
Lane, C2243 Wichenford and vice versa.
Maximum duration: 18 Months. Anticipated duration: 5 days Commencing: 20 March 2023
